We believe that every child is unique and will grow at his or her own pace. Our teachers spend time nurturing children’s strengths and encouraging them to reach new heights.
At Mosman Kinderland we have both play based learning and also formal group times where children are engaged with story-telling, activities, songs, dancing, music, games, experiments and experiences about different interests, themes and learning topics. We offer a Preschool program designed to help children transition to big school.
Children drive our educational programs and educators strive to build on children's natural curiosity, imagination and wonder. Play forms a huge part of our program as we use the children's play, conversations and interactions to build on their knowledge and scaffold learning. We believe in working in partnership where children, educators, families and the community learn together.
We believe that through respectful relationships learning takes place. Relationships with others, nature, our environment, our community and our culture all play a part.
We have performers visit the centre to entertain and teach the children about animals, science, hygiene, manners and health magicians, emergency services, indigenous performers, music and musical instrument shows and workshops, school excursions and more. The children and centre sponsor a child with the support of the families and parent committee. We regularly visit and make use of our local community garden to educate children on living sustainably and in connection with community.
We value culture and celebrate diversity. We strive to embed First Nations perspective into our programs and create an inclusive environment where everyone feels welcome, respected and involved.
We advocate for children's rights and child safety is embedded in our centre culture.
